Vancouver's most famous jury member, Gillian Guess, who slept with a man on trial for first degree murder in 1995, is in the spotlight for the latest Canadian film by Bruce McDonald, The Love Crimes of Gillian Guess. Described as a "kooky movie", McDonald's film displays the outlandish behaviour of Guess through flashbacks by TV talk show host Bobby Tomahawk, played by former Headstones singer Hugh Dillon. On Friday night, Return to Sender made its world premiere at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto with red carpet appearances by Connie Nielson, Bille August, Kelly Preston and Aidan Quinn. The Toronto International Film Festival wraps up tomorrow night and organizers have chosen a comedy to end this year's festivites. The Martin Short film, Jiminy Glick in Lalawood, will close the 10-day festival and features clips of Jiminy Glick (played by Short) interviewing celebrities from last year's TIFF.
