Globe and Mail, Canada - For the film industry’s glitterati, the Toronto International Film Festival is really about getting films into the limelight, schmoozing with those distribution companies and networking, networking, networking.

The tried-and-true formula for doing that involves a dash of daring and a whole lot of liquor, which means it’s really the parties where everything hot and irresistible goes on.

Now, the truth is, even if you are somehow graced with press credentials you’re not guaranteed a coveted spot in the company of the most beautiful.

But milling around the areas where those parties take place, or reserving a spot at a resto-lounge early enough that they can’t kick you out once the fiesta starts, are both solid ideas for getting your own delicious slice of the action
