Reuters Canada, Canada - New movies from Sean Penn and Julian Schnabel earned high praise at the Telluride Film Festival during the Labor Day holiday weekend, while the absence of a “wow” movie and lengthy lines dampened some spirits. Last year’s “wow” film was the German spy saga “The Lives of Others,” which rode its Telluride buzz to the Toronto International Film Festival, and went on to win the foreign language Oscar.
