Wondering if anybody has already seen any films featured at this year's TIFF elsewhere? Not looking for critic reviews just friendly suggestions. I mention this because when I was vacationing in Paris earlier this summer I went to see The Illusionist. I really loved it. It's a bit sad but charming in all the right places. If you are a fan of Jacques Tati or Triplets of Belleville this is a must.

A number of TIFF films are screening at the Venice and Telluride film festivals, which are taking place right now. I know that I've been checking the Internet for reviews and reactions to films like Black Swan (Venice) and 127 Hours (Telluride; incl. reports of people needing medical attention during screening: http://blogs.indiewire.com/thompsononhollywood/2010/09/05/telluride_127_hours_marks_two_pass-outs/).
