As the title says, if anyone's got a spare (or 2) for the Tues 11:00am screening or Sat. 9:00pm screening of Black Swan I would be willing to pay more than face value for your trouble. I'll also play you a song on guitar but I warn you my repertoire is limited, I'm still learning.

Ehhhh I've been soured on the online and over-the-phone ordering process after that debacle on the 3rd, and I have a feeling that Black Swan in particular won't be so easy to get. I figure that I was ready to pay upwards of $40 for the gala screening so I can handle paying a bit extra for a regular screening, even if I do oppose on principle people who are trying to make money off of this. I'm more hoping to give a bit of incentive for someone who ended up with a spare by chance and now has to go through the trouble of getting rid of it, rather than paying an absurd price to someone who just bought a bunch of difficult to obtain tickets and are using them to take advantage of the desperate.
Thank you for trying to save me money, though :) Hopefully I can scavenge a ticket one way or another, big fan of Aronofsky and would really like to see this with a festival crowd. If not, I'm sure the rest of my TIFF movie-going will ease my pain.

True. Well i'm trying to get tickets for Black Swan as well and no luck so far :(
I tried craigslist and kijiji...and like you said people are selling them for way too much. What other screenings are you attending during the festival? Anyways, I still say try calling/ordering online the day of the screening, maybe you'll get lucky? If you do end up buying them off someone, I'll be terribly jealous of the person who gets to be serenaded by you haha! oh and Aronofsky..the wrestler..requiem for a dream..the fountain...pi...mmmm love him and his mind-boggling movies

Success! Bought a couple of tickets for the Tuesday 11am for 40 each, sounded like the person who's selling them just couldn't make the screening, obviously yes they are making some money off of me but oh well, 40 is worth it for me. Can't wait for the screening, and hoping that Aronofsky and/or Portman show up as the Gala is the night previous.
As it happens, karinak, I only need one of these tickets (my tiff partner is not ready to pay $40 for one movie) and since you've been very friendly if you wanted to give me 40 for the other one it's yours. I can't promise anything until they're actually in my hands of course (that should be very soon, though), so please nobody else make any offers, if and when the need arises I'll make a new topic and sell it for 40 to the first person that replies, otherwise I'll sell it to someone in the rush line on the day.
My sched for the fest is looking great, I've only gone to a couple screenings per year for the last few years but I decided to go all out this time, very excited for it. I'll be seeing The Edge and Passion Play (most likely, hopefully) on Friday, Outside the Law on Sunday, Black Swan on Tues., I Saw the Devil and Red Nights on Wed., Never Let Me Go, Stone, and Julia's Eyes next Sat., and The Illusionist (this one is in doubt, but I'm gonna try) and Beginners next Sun. Considering I'm working around an already tight work and school schedule I'd say I've done pretty well, definitely going to be exhausting though.
You seeing anything interesting? Do share, please.

I'm glad you got the tickets :) And thanks for offering, I'll let you know if I'll buy the ticket, it's a bad time for me since I have school at that time on Tuesday. But I'll let you know :) This is my first time at TIFF and I'm not exactly going all out since my schedule doesn't permit me:( I have school AND I'm volunteering for the festival. But so far...I've got tickets for Conviction, 127 hours, and Henry's Crime. There are so many more that I wanna see, however like Biutiful and Black Swan, of course. I'm trying to get tickets for Stone as well. But all of these are already sold out so i'm gonna try to buy them at the box office on the day of or RUSH line. ahhh i'm so excited :)

I tried to get tickets on the site when they came out and called for this. I tried and tried. I've never been to TIFF ,but I have had to wait in line for tickets to other film festivals. I was unable to wait in that crazy line due to university classes so I kept trying online. The website had problems. SUCCESS with regards to tickets for Insidious but, to my greatest dismay, was unable to get tickets to Black Swan. I've been looking all over the place for tickets to it. Is there ANYONE who has ticket(s). Please. Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan? After Pi, Requiem for a Dream and the list goes on. I don't think he can do better. anyone?
Do any of you think this will compare to his past works?
