they are somewhere between 15 (posted in the "so few boxes" thread) and 24 (mine, which hasn't been sent yet. So far only Hereafter and Biutiful are confirmed as unavailable. Although given that pattern, my guess would be is that Miral is next. I'll post when i get mine.

Last I saw on Twitter was someone in box 19 who got their confirmation email. I'm in 27, so I know I won't be getting Biutiful. I'm worried about Miral ... in fact, any of those day-after-the-premiere that have a screening at Elgin.

I'm so disappointed. I'm in box #3. Getting your order in early does not guarantee you'll be processed first. Might be getting nothing but a combination of second choices and vouchers. Ugh! Oh well. Thank god for tiffreviews.com Might have to start cutting deals on here with other posters for tickets.

Just saw a tweet saying that Potiche is not unavailable. Since there are fewer morning screenings this year, and those screenings tend to be higher profile films in smaller theaters, they're more likely to become unavailable sooner in the process.
Haven't seen any reports of processed orders from a box number higher than 19 yet though.

They're processing box 20 or 21 right now.

Just got my box 21 orders.
Movies I didn't get tickets to are
Julia's Eyes
Cave of Forgetten Dreams
Casino JackAll day time screenings. Got 22/25 first picks.

I don't have much hope of getting much of my first pics being in box 33. Does anyone know if there will be a big wait to exchange vouchers tomorrow. The last time I did TIFF was when pickup was on labour day and the lineup then was insane. WOndering if it'll be different since tomorrow is a workday.

I'd be surprised if there was much of a lineup tomorrow, since ticket/voucher pick-up is on Thursday. :-)

last year it was on a weekday and there were fewer people than i've ever seen on exchange day. I got there around 6am and was one of the first in line. I think i was done with everything by 8:30 or so. But don't take my word for stuff :)

I was in Box 21 and got the email around 3:45 pm. They tell you which films you got, but not which ones you didn't get. And because I ordered 2 different types of passes (the day pass and the coupon book) and made some last minute changes from my lists when I was filling out the form, I'm not even sure about all the films I requested. I think these are the ones I didn't get, though:
Biutiful
Hereafter
You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger
Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2 different screenings)
I Saw The Devil
Heartbeats (Les Amours Imaginaires)Posted 1 year ago # -
thanks for the info. i don't get into town until the wednesday before the festival. so i get what i get. i'm probably in box 4 or 5. we only order small films so might be some left tomorrow when my order is filled. guess we have to bring our bikes again this year to get from venue to venue. with my original schedule we had time to walk in between them all,

In the same boat as frankis, box 33...anyone know if it's worth it to try to get to toronto to exchange on thursday? do any of the "sold out" screenings open up?
Posted 1 year ago # -
According to Twitter, Uncle Boonmee is also gone - not sure about which screening.

jc: sold out screenings do open up but you have to get pretty lucky. also, people are sometimes selling or trading tickets and sometimes to soldout screenings at the lineup. If you can go, I would say it's definitely worth it. It's the only day you have before it opens to public sales, so your odds will only get worse if you don't go.

whoops, my bad. I was wondering how they were going to finish going through all the boxes before tomorrow marning, but they have a whole extra day, so it shouldn't be a problem.
As for the sold-out screening opening up, in my experience, they don't. You can ask them to check, but unless someone has just returned tickets for that movie, you won't suddenly find tickets being available. Most people lining up on the first day are there to exchange vouchers and not to return tickets, but you never know.Posted 1 year ago # -
They just finished processing box 22. I didn't get Biutiful but I did get the last screening of Cave of Forgotten Dreams. There appears to be tickets left for the last screening of Black Swan as well.

hey abishop and frankis - thanks for the heads up. my former roommate is going to line-up tomorrow morning and he's going to exchange tics for me and my buddy so we're good on that end.
i didn't put down a TON of higher-profile screenings though i had a few - rabbit hole, what's wrong with virginia, black swan, cave of forgotten dreams, brighton rock, i saw the devil, uncle boonmee, etc...i'm resigning myself to the probability i won't get any of those but it's hearing that a heartbeats / julia's eyes screening are sold out that worry me for my other choices (like three, our day will come, the ward, promises written in water, kaboom, etc). i also put down julia's eyes as a choice so i'm assuming i didn't get that one for sure.
in either case, it looks like i'm going to have to do some extensive exchanges to revise my schedule.
one more thing: anyone know if they open up more tickets on the actual single-ticket purchase day (friday)? i ask because considering how fast high-profile stuff is going this year, i'm surprised that last year (when i did 17 single-tickets), my roommates managed to pick me up tickets to movies like antichrist (which was reportedly sold out before), bad lieutenant, and a single man...

not all films sell-out based on being high-profile. some are just a matter of small theatre or convenient time or being a popular 2nd choice. i've seen some really weird movies "sold out" early past couple of years.
tiff, do you know how late they work at processing? wonder if they'll get to 24 tonight.

Again: DO NOT line up tomorrow morning. Ticket pick-up is Thursday.

haha i just got my days confused :p. i meant he's lining up on thurs morning. thanks for the warning though

i still think its cause of the donor thing this year, if you split it it really only works out to a 3$ premium per ticket. I was in a donor envelope and got 30 first picks ( including Hearafter)
Posted 1 year ago # -
If you are in a donor envelope and pool with others - say 5 people- - does this still mean only 4 tickets max per movie?
Or does this not apply if you but say 5 10 packs and are "buying some of the 10 packs for others" and mark it as such on the envelopes?
thanks in advance
BTW what box number is the latest? anyone?

Just got mine - box 24. Did not get the following:
Biutiful 9:30 sat
Stone 2:30 Sat
Hereafter
Miral 9:00 tues
Band Bang Club 9:00 thurs
Uncle Boonmee 9:15 sat4 out of 6 morning screenings that i wanted were sold out. that's what you get when you drastically cut number of morning screenings.
Posted 1 year ago # -
Box 23 processed around 6:30.
In addition to what has already been posted, the following are sold out:40 9/13
Another Year 9/14
Barney's Version 9/14
The Human Resources Manager 9/15Posted 1 year ago # -
Damn that was the Uncle Boonmee screening I was going for. Sucks cause that was top 5 on my list to see. 10 more boxes to go...:S
Also sucks cause I feel like a lot of Torontonians who picked up tickets to Uncle Boonmee may not have been aware that they will get it three days after the fest ends anyway as a regular screening at the Lightbox. For those of us out of town with limited access to specialty theatres, that's a real bummer.
Hope people continue reporting their boxes and what's out...

the rules for multiple tickets apply for each package purchased as far as i know, the donor is just the one person who's name is attached to the "order" ( one person orders and pays for the group of passes, up to 100 tickets) but each pass or coupon ordered gets its own envelope to order as they wish, with the same rules for multiples as usual. so a day pass person gives 75 bucks to the donor and a 10 pack person gives 30 bucks to the donor, etc. but im sure TIFF will likely can this as well in the future.

I had one 25-film day pack and two 10 Coupon Flexpacks and they combined the 2x10s into a single voucher/single envelope, and the limit was still 4 tickets per film per envelope. So what you might think would be 2 separate envelopes actually became one. I think it would be the same if it was ten x 10 Coupon Flexpacks. It would be one mass envelope for 100 tickets.

We have done the group pooling with the donor access in the past (didnt do it this year) - in the past the 4 tickets max was across the entire order. So if you pooled 10 10-coupon orders into 1 donor, you could still only buy 4 tickets per screening, not 40. I expect its the same this year.
Also, historically they dont open up more tickets for sold out screenings on the start of single ticket sales. The best best is to go to the box office in the morning (1hr before first screening) the same day - there are always some tickets on sale, usually 10-30 or so. Much better than doing the Rush thing.

Good call on the same-day thing. I forgot about that. I may leave open a few vouchers and do that since I should be staying fairly close to two TIFF box-offices.
