Do the films at the Winter Garden have the same set-up at the ones at the Elgin or is it more low-key? Is there a red carpet? Where's the best place to be to get an autograph before or after the movie?

It's more low-key. The Elgin and Winter Garden share the same lobby, though, so the stars will enter on the same red carpet and be interviewed in the lobby. Have your camera or autograph book ready as you enter the theatre. You may be told not to stop as the line is entering, but if you take yourself out of the line and stand by the velvet rope and you may be able to interact with the stars (if they're there).

You can also go to the stage door area (entrance off Victoria Street) after the screening. Two years ago I went to see In the Valley of Elah and we exited the Elgin through the doors on Victoria Street. As I was walking up Victoria, I briefly talked to Paul Haggis and I saw Josh Brolin, Diane Lane and Evan Rachel Wood by the stage door talking to people.

Well, Matt Damon didn't go across the street yesterday. He arrived late and went right in the theatre (could he not at least turn and wave?). I was seeing the film following Matt's (Bright Star) and was able to get into the Visa lounge (if you have a Visa gold card or higher and arrive very early you can get in the lounge--cash bar, free popcorn and free Lindt Lindor chocolates!). Well, after Matt's film, they whisked the stars through the lounge and out the back door. Saw Michael Douglas, Scott Bakula, and Matt Damon. Alas, bloody camera wouldn't shoot (Jason Bourne-like, that Matt Damon is stealthy), and only got pic of the back of his head.
